i know there are loads of CLET experts on here so would it b possible 2 get 400bhp out of a C20LET engine?

a guy has one he reckons is running at 400bhp in his nova and can do 180mph top end!

Cheers.

you can 800bhp out of a let - but no one is prepared to throw the cash at it - people would rather spend it on a YB.

yes it is possible, but you would be looking at having NOS or aftermarket ECU such as Autronic or DTA, but saying that you can now get the standard ecu re-mapped to whatever u want as long as uve got the parts to back it up you could get over 400bhp

Guy on migweb has a mk2 astra running 450-500bhp on 2 bar of boost

yes it could! think the top speed on the gearing is 184mph, but i stand to be corrected... would need to have a silly high rev limiter! but it is possible~!

their was a link to a site about this before not sure what it was though!

I managed a GPS reading of 164 on an upper rev limit in my old Calibra turbo.

anything is possible with money.

IF your building a 800bhp let then shafts and gearbox would be money no object.

Easily possible to get 400bhp from a LET. Its just money, no mega mechanical advancement needed. About 6k should see you right.

The F28 in FWD if if good condition and you know how to treat it will happily take 400lbft. Those that break an F28 these days will find there box will never of been touched from new. That makes a VERY old box!

The shafts will probably break at that power if the car suddenly grips. Happened to mine once. Though the damage was done over a prolnged period of time, they twisted like this, then eventually went...

The Nova could easily do 180mph on a long enough road. Weather or not he did it is another thing.

i get 140 from my 170bhp

i think as long as the gear ratio's are correct there shouldnt be any problems.

I know of a 500 + bhp LET being built and it will take silly money even then to make it reliable and usable.

So far its still in bits but the bottom end cost him 4.5 K alone building it himself and he is also planning on a quaiffe sequential box

Will bemad if he ever finishes it
