Just a couple of things since I joined this site which baffle me everytime I read em...

1. Some of the cars you guys have modded look fantastic with your lowered skirting etc, but as we live in a society obsessed with speed bumps, how the hell do you manage to get anywhere without rippping the f**k out of the bottom of em?

2. Removing rear wipers – I can see looks-wise why you'd want to do it, but surely the practiclity of them outweighs this? Or do the majority of you not use interior mirrors?

maybe its just me...?

2. Dunno, i rarely use my rear wiper, and when i do its only because its hammering down with rain/snowing

1. drive slow over them or have the council remove them if they break the regulations on speed bumps

2. rear wiper wise i use rainX or polish on rear windscreen to make most water trickle off, its cleaned weekly so dirt isnt a problem and in the rain it's not that bad anyway when ure moving....

i know about both as i've done/suffer from them

Listen to that. I smacked my front bumper on a speedbump which was unpainted and snapped it just off centre. Proper pi**ed me off aswell

If I made my car as low as some on here I'd never get out of my drive, let alone out of the street.
Rear wipers are a must around winter in farming country, too.

as sed before for point 1. Drive slowly and you will be fine!

and point 2.... I'm used to driving without using the rear view mirror, as my dad has vans that have been boarded off and I use them a bit so dont really look in the rear view now.

i couldnt handle having lowered car with the number of speed bumps around here, plus would be a nightmare n the multi-storey at work!

Rubbish!! my car is pretty low. i stay on a farm with a long approx 1km drive that is not the best to strips of concrete either side and i manage. I also manage to survive without a rear wiper and i live way out in the sticks with all the shitty roads!

I feel you haven't seen my street, let alone the roads near me. I've had the standard bumper at standard height scrape the roads on both the 306 and Laguna at 35mph.

why wud u need a rear wiper

jst drive slowly over bumps and sometimes it helps to go on them on an angle , then again alot of cars tht u see which are highly modded never touch the roads

speed bumps are there to make you go slower, so end up driving slowly over them, no problem there then.

loss of rear wiper, well there was so much rust there it about fell out anyway. lack of vision thru the rear window is a pain on motorway, but with taper throttle bodies and no interior motorways aint my favortie place

1. In the corsa, scrape my way over speedbumps

2. Hardly use it at all so not an issue

I suppose the verdict is such that the rear wiper option is down to preference, and lower is only problematic if you live in shit road/builtup areas like Leeds.

Lowering also depends on the drop and the wheel size
