Right i bought a airbed on wednesday night, the product had next day delivery so it would have been there for the 25th which was when my GF was comming to see me for the weekend so she would have somewhere to sleep as i only have a single bed at uni.

So it never arrived and he wasnt replying to any of my e-mails asking for a refund untill today.

They tried to deliver the package but i told them to return to sender beacuse i had no use for it now as it hadnt ben delivered when stated which i paid for.

Then just now i checked my e-mails and he has said that he was sorry but he had computer problems over the weekend so couldnt respond. Then got another e-mail saying that the problem was withteh address i had supplied, the delivery company couldnt find it on friday yet they could magicly find it today

The addy i gave was just missing my road name which isnt really a big deal, had lots of stuff sent here before without it with no issues!!

So he is trying to now say that he is going to send me an invoice to cover all his extra expenses for having to send it back to me when i dont want the damn thing!! I am going to be fucked for money now beacuse the cost of the item (£40) is going to be doubled now for the postage charges!! (£15 and that was for the one way delivery to me!)

REALLY MAD !!!!!
I do have his address now thanks to ste_nova

Any suggestions? or am i really in the wrong here?!

Hi

The courier has just confirmed that the delay was due to an incomplete address supplied by YOU:

This is the address supplied by you:

Doug Pinnegar
Flat 4
Ty Gwerin
Aberystwyth
Ceredigion
SY23 2HF

YOU missed out 'QUEENS ROAD', therefore it is not surprising that the parcel was not delivered.

Just thought you should know that this delay is 100% down to YOU.

All charges incurred by your address mistake and subsequent refusal to accept the parcel today will be levied against you. An invoice will be issued shortly including all costs incurred because of you.

regards

Thats the e-mail i got from him

To be fair he can only send it to the address given, which he has done. It's you and/or the delivery place that is at fault!

BTW 40 quid is well steep, my girlfriend got an airbed as we were in the same situation as you for 22 quid iirc from an outdoor type shop.

I orderd some roof bars for my clio. The address on the email was 100% correct but when they put it on the parcel they put 1 letter wrong. When DHL came they said you put your address on wrong and the van driver could not find you. So the office put my post code in multi map and it found my address. So your delivery firm should have used your post code. They have the internet and sat nav. Sorry about the essay.

In my experience, if the company are unable to deliver they contact you and either clarify the address or ask you to collect from the local depot. I've never once heard of parcels being returned to sender straight away, or indeed the sender incurring further charges.

There's no legal reason why he should instigate another delivery at your expense without informing you first of his intention to incur more fees, and certainly no way he is able to invoice you for an outstanding amount which you never actually agreed to honour.

Doesn't matter - but he can't spend your money on more deliveries.

Can he legally send it out to me again and invoice me for it?

The package was delivered today and one of my flatmates told them to return it to sender as it was no longer needed.
But why could they find the address today and not on friday?!

He's probably looked up the postcode and added Queens Road to it?

i will just argue with him the folowing:

- the delivery company should have contacted if there was a problem

-He should have contacted me sooner so i would have known not to send it back

-Other packages have been delivered fine

-He should refund me and then try to seek compensation from the delivery company

Anything else i should do or say? Should i post up the messages i sent him that i didnt get replys to untill today?
