did a compression test on it yesterday, to try and diagnose the cause of the water in the oil

results were as follows

cyl 1 cyl 2 cyl 3 cyl 4
15.5 15.7 15.5 15.8

figures are in bar

so, we came to th conclusion that my headgasket is probably ok

also had a go at fixing my heater, by playing with the vacuum lines on the pipes, and it sorta worked

so all in all, not a bad day, and my car lives.... which is nice

cheers to broster and teddy for their help

oh, if anyone can work out why i have a little bit of water in my oil, please tell me

Compression can still be spot on and you can still have a blown headgasket. It maybe that its gone between an oil and waterway and not leaking into a cylinder

true, but its less likely, as i'm not losing any water, or burning an excessiva amount of oil

i think its probably condensation from when the engine sat for a few weeks
