ome sort of custom inlet manifold that will go between the block and the carbs. Not sure on the setting up tho? I presume they could be set up like normal carbs?

What size are they? How come your going for R1 carbs instead of a set of dellorto or webers that are designed for the car?

I thought R1's were fuel injected

All you need is a manifold from jenvey or somwhere to suit carbs/tb's and then they're a standard fitment so they'll bolt on.

Setting up is the same as with other applications.

I was going to fit R1 carbs to my XE but abit pointless when they are only 40mm and alot more work than just fitting some Twin 45s or tbs

Just that after 2002 the R1 went fuel injected.
Plenty of breakers about that will have pre 2002 carbs from an R1

from memory you'll need:

- new inlet manifold
- fuel pressure regulator (r1 carbs only need about 2-4psi of fuel IIR)
- 8v dizzy (with plugs to fit), amp and coil (to control timing and ignition - you'll not need your ECU anymore).
- the carbs themselves
- a suitable panel filter to cover the carbs
- fabricate some trumpets if necessary (lower down torque)
- some RR time to set them up

Cost me just over £500 all in - check my stats below....
