My friend is having a few problems with his C20XE'd Corsa

If you start the car up it idles perfectly fine.

If you rev is slowly it'll go all the way round fine

If you put your foot to the floor it just dies.

Any suggestions?

My first thought was that it could be a bad earth, I know a few people have has similar problems.

The AFM has been changed so I very much doubt it would be that.

Please help

take a spark plug out and see what colour it is. Normally it should be white, if its black then its over fuelling. When was it last serviced?

mine did this today when i tried another air flow meter. is a 1.2 though, but symptoms were EXACTLY the same. i put it down to the other meter being dodgy and used my original one. works ok now

White indicates its running lean, should be a kind of bronze colour. Its got pics in the back of haynes.

my car has started flooding itself at junctions and started randomly hesitating on accelerating at around 4krpm but sure its my afm and not enough air as its smokey at start up. not run this engine on injection before since rebuild as was running carbs so sure my air/fuel is wrong. got another afm to put on but will be taking it to a tuning guy near me who is really good. not checked my plugs yet but i know they will be black

I had the same problem used to floor it hard and it would bog down and almost stall...turned out out to be the AFM

Doubt very much its going to be a fuel filter tbh
