ported box tuned to 32hz. 1000wrms amp, 1000wrms sub...
why does it go frrrrrrrp frrrrrrp when its up 'loud'.
Gain up half way, and its not AMAZINGLY loud, just alrite...
Have i done something amazingly wrong. Considering SEALING the box and 'padding' it out to make it correct volume...
Thought my ICE dilema was over.

the answer to your u2u is.... yes i am running mine with 1800rms @ 1 ohm ..... i would not of thought it would of been the box, post a few pics and lets have a look.....its more likey you have either wired the sub incorrect, or when you have connected it to the amp you have bridged it wrong...... on my map you can only run 1 soeaker per out put and you cant bridge the speaker out over both channels you may find thats where the problem is.....
failing that you need to start check simple thing like your earth, and make sure the head unit is actually working correctly...... like on my alpine there a by pass for the filters etc etc and all you get is distortion .....

havent changed any settings on HU, just turned up sub level to 12, and gain 1/2 way
everythings wired correctly,
earth is wired straight back to Yellow top in the boot.
mono amp, rockford type X6...

Dont get me wrong, it is loud, maybe i just expected louder?
I only thought something was wrong because i thought it should never make that noise if you are putting 1800wrms through it without any distortion...

does your sub make any noises other than nice clean bass when you turn it up to about 1000wrms level...?

It sounds like a fuckup with the box to be honest, did you make it yourself?
Sounds like a full on farting problem caused by box problems.

where did you get the deisgn for the box from?
if its the one from the re site, these have been prooven to work finr with no probs.....what i will say is the sx range is not the most musical sub anyway compared to others

Yes i did MAKE the box myself, but the design came from Am at blade ICE distributers.
You have to ring RE to contact them now i believe, they have 'so many emails' that they dont attempt to respond to them.
i dont know what the problem was, but it seems to have sorted its self out  maybe because it was all new something was not performing correctly for a while? i cant see how, but its fine now anyways, clear as a bell
On a different note (see what i did there..), How do you set up an amplifier to run a cross over and a tweeter and mid... I have freq. adjust, HPF, FLAT, LPF setttings, and BASS EQ...
ANY HELP AT ALL on this would be spiffing
