It would no way be a fighter jet,
Would just be a spotter, following the A380 around so if the pilot wants them to look at something external on the plane they can..
You can see the large extra external fuel tanks on it too.. No way a little plane like that could stay in the air as long as the A380 without them..
Fantastic pics anyhow, wonder what it's doing over there? Love the pic where its just coming behind the building!! How long is it now until flight testing will be over and first production models start?

LOL thats a Learjet 35, followed the A380 all the way from Brisbane. its a chase plane taking photos throughout the flight and over the harbour with the bridge as a backdrop.
painz, the Learjet could stay aflight for about 4 hours with max fuel
Its visiting Australia for Qantas' 85th birthday celebrations in Brisbane, and it was also to test the A380 on a long-haul flight. will be stopping in Kuala Lumpar on the way back. Flight testing should be hurried along now since there are 3 flight worthy A380's flying between Frankfurt and Toulouse. Hot/Cold weather testing should be completed before the end of the year, then once it has completed 3000hrs of testing, production models will begin. First are to be delivered around Q1 2007.
RR are quite happy with the engines, although 2 had to be changed after 1 overheated last week just as it was about to leave for Singapore.
