directly down is erm 8500 there is no way in hell i have a rev limit that high... i do be scared reving the corsa over 6k

nah it aint no way near 8500, prob 8kish id say, 7500 will take second gear to 60 just, im getting 62ish so its prob just before 8k. lol, its fun but also scary!

Fuel consumption could easily be better with tb's than with standard management if mapped properly.

If your nailing it and making power your obviously going to use a lot of fuel, there is no way around that however you tune the engine.

indeed, if i drive mine nice and steady fuel is good and its smoother to drive.
