what happens to water if expelled from say, a spaceship, into space?
does it just float around?
if so, would a fish be able to survive in the water, providing it doesn't swim out of the water?

I'm sure the water wouldn't all stay together as the fish would push away to swim.

how bout if you had a sealed unit with water in it along with the fish, it could certainly live for a while, untill all the oxygen in the water has been used up or the fishy dies from starvation.

It would forget it was bored a few seconds after becoming bored......it'd never hold its boredom long enough to become bored to death!

And, to answer the original question, even the miniscule movements of its heartbeat would cause enough vibration to move the water particles away from the "epicenter" (ie. the fish), albeit very slowly. So, no, the fish wouldn't survive even for a short period...

Assuming that the "walls" of the sealed unit were strong enough to cope with the difference in pressure between inside and outside, then yes, it's possible it would survive for slightly longer...

We had a little task today, we had to pretend that we were stranded on the moon and that we needed to travel 200 miles accross it to get to a base so we could get home. We needed to decide what were the three most importnat things we needed to take with us from our crashed space ship. No one belived me that a gun would be usefull because the best thing to do would be shoot yourself
