has any one ever seen on had an induction kit sticking out of the drivers wing? seen it in a magazine the other day, n thought it was pretty cool. what problems would u get with this ie with rain and wet roads etc

Having a wet filter would be the biggest problem as you said! Id say its mainly a dry use/show car thing TBH!

does any one knof if there any thing that could go between the filter and the regulator to drain the water, as we dont get many dry days in the lake district.

Wht dont you mount an air filter in the wing as you have said but just dont connect it up........then leave the airbox there with a performance panel! Power gains will be the same and you wont end up sucking in dirty water!!!
