"It will probably take around two weeks to have the new damper sent out to you sir"

So what do i do for two f*cking weeks while my car sits about? I mean how the feck does it take two weeks for them to send me out replacement rear dampers for a product which is clearly defective.

Words cannot describe how angry i am right now with zee Germans over at FK

Has anyone else had problems like this? How long did it take you to have it replaced .etc

What happened? I'm sorry but to me FK are worse than GMAX, you hear nothing but had stories about them.

from what i can make out the damper has basically leaked.... the oil or whatever it is inside is half in half out as you can see from the state of it.... the one on the right is fine and when u compress it, it retracts but the one on the left when compressed doesn't retract it jus sits there....

so whatever it is inside (oil i do believe) no longer has the pressure/volume in it and therefore it doesnt work....

i've never had a problem before and only found this by chance tbh when puttin my spax 60mm rears on... FK are replacing it free of charge which is fine by me and how it shud be done but it shudnt happen in the first place

Blown the seals at a guess... If they are proper coilovers then the nitrogen in them will have mixed with the oil too, and you can't even re-build them.

do you find that they are quite noisey when going over bumps like as if when you press a bike pump down?

yeah a british company who import them but he basically put that down to "FK" taking there time to sort it out .etc and not his fault... which is something i hate cos he was jus passing the buck on

Anyway i rang FK direct and spoke to hans but he said i have to talk to who i purchased them from. dont get me wrong the kit was great up 2 now but 2 weeks to have a replacement part is a little silly to say the least.

I'll see what the companys says back in an email then mention the costs of a hire care for two weeks and costs .etc see if they buck up there pace a little

No they are pelt, Harsh as fuck rust after a few weeks, the height ajuster seizes and whats the point selling a set of coil overs with hieght ajust and not damping rate unless you go for the top of the range Item?

Also all of the above are not isolated cases I know of three people who had all these problems

if anyones buying coilovers of any kind, then spray all the threads for the height adjustment with grease of some sort, keeps them free from rust and makes sure they dont sieze.re grease every now and again to stop from rusting, they are exposed to all the elements remember

he asked for pics so i sent him those.... he says only one. but i've jus emailed him saying how i rang FK and spoke to another authorised FK dealer who said they shud be replaced in pairs.

see what happens. dont like his attitude already - makes out like he's going out of his way to sort it out.... he sold the goods and the contract lies with him so he needs to sort it
