My 1.4 would never show past an indicated 117mph.

LMAO at the muppets stating the bleedin obvious that his car isn't actually going 127mph, think he might know that already What he is questioning is why it shows 127mph rather than the normal 117mph, when he only has a filter (iirc).

i'm amazed the speedo went that high, i only used to be able to manage 110 in my SRi 16v

Is there any visual difference between the X14XE and the X16XE, becuase it doesnt say X14XE where its meant too... and it does keep up with X16XE's...

ah the old 10mph white dials, your original dials are different, your car was doing 117mph, i got 131mph out of my modified 1.6 and that was on the limiter in 5th gear

u sure its not just corroded over, sand paper it down, mine was invisible til i cleaned it up

you may have a different gearbox to your mate

the X14XE had the F13CR or F15CR depending what year

its not just gearing u need shear power too m8, i mean do u no how much extra power an xe would need to say do 150mph a fuckin lot thats how much

even x16xe is geared to do 121mph according to my spec from vaux so even if u had x16xe u would not be doin 127 less speedo is very out and ur running 17+wheels

Couple of my mates have 1.4 16v Sports. 1 of them was sat at 130 on the clocks and the other was sat alongside him at the same speed but his said 110 on the clocks

my old .14 would only pull 119 in 5th

and i dotn think anyone with a standard revlimit can do much over 120 with a 1.6
