Does anyone else think that it makes for a much more interesting league, with the exception of Chelski, that no team dominates week in week out. That brings me to another point which we were discussin in the pub on Friday....We all know that Chelski have won/bought the title so if everyone treats 2nd place the same as winning the leauge and base eveything around that. After all it does bring nearly everything that winning the league does. Gaurenteed champions league and half a million pound less in prize money.

This statement annoys me somewhat. Every other team in the Premiership trys to "buy" the title every season, just they dont buy the right players to do the job. Go through every Premiership team and see how many of the players have been through the Youth Academys at that particular club, i bet you'll be hard pushed to find a starting 11 with more that 3 in each team.

Oh, and im not a Chelsea fan before anyone starts

I agree. People that say Chelsea bought the title usually support one of the other 19 Prem teams and say that to make themselves feel better. Heck its not lke nobody else has spent money this year.

Leeds tried to buy the title, and failed. It's not as simple as just throwing money at the situation. You need the right balance, the right manager, coaches, training routines, physio's etc..... Then there is buying the right players in the first place, which can be very hit and miss i.e. Kezman, Veron, Parker.....

Chelsea have only done what every other club in the Premier League have tried to do, if Liverpool won the Leauge, would people be saying this?? I doubt it, yet i bet they have bought the same amount of players over the last few years as Chelsea

How can you say that? Chelski have nearly spent a quater of a billion pounds on players in 3 seasons. Newcastle are high spenders I will admit but no one is in Chelskis league, not even close. In my opinion it spoils football as it is so much of a one horse race. I hope everyone gets fed up of Chelski's greatness and just ignores them to be honest. Once the man with the cash gets bored and leaves there will be no more Chelsea, which if it happens will be a shame.

it makes me laugh how people say Chelski havent bought the premiership.

If they havent then why had they won next to nothing before Abromovich's millions came in? If they havent then why have they spent more in the last 3 seasons on players than all the premier league clubs have added together in the last 5+ years?

There is no reasonable argument to say that they didnt buy the league. You can mention other clubs spending, but this is nothing compared to chelski.

And seems you mentioned liverpool...the most we have spent on any one player is 14m on cisse (before that 11m on heskey and 9m on diouf). Chelsea have spent over 15m on probably more than 7 or 8 players havent they?

And buying players like SWP pisses me off a bit. The kid has unbelievable raw talent and needed to join a club better than Man City. No disrespect to Man City but if he wanted to really go places he had to move. But he decided to go to Chelski which in my opinion is the worst thing he could have done. If anything I would say he has gone back as a player as he isnt playing enough. I think he will seriously regret moving there in the next few years when he is only on the fringes of the England squad. But again the spending power of Chelski ensured that no one else could afford him. You cant honestly say he is worth what they paid for him?
