anyone who clicks a link that ends in a .com file deserves to be infected.
why cant people get it into their head that when someone starts a conversation with a link its not always best to click it?
You have a worm my friend, not the tape variety.

When I clicked the link my computer blocked a pop-up before the window opened. Any chance this has saved me from infection?

Well, anything ending in .com or .pif are definatly going to be viruses.
But generally, for god sake, dont ever click on a link anyone has sent you without them speaking to you first
