Stark Motorsport are currently building my new car, just thought I`d post a picture of how it`s coming along

This is Peter Stark`s 1.4 8v Nova, he`s currently competing in the Scottish Tarmack Rally Championship

There`s a new front panel going on the front, the rest of it is purely surface rust, the underside of the car is spotless, we`ve only just stripped it down to the bare shell & are preparing it for welding & then spraying

Starting from scratch is the best way, we know exactly what we`ve got then, still undecided about the engine, will probably either be a 1.4 8v or a 1.4 16v

Apart from needing a new front panel the shell is pretty much spotless, a few areas of surface rust but that is easy to clean up, it`s 13 years old, you`ll struggle to find one these days that doesn`t require some amount of work

Theres nothing much wrong with that shell. Like Scott says once its been stiched welded and then prepared for spraying all the rust will be gone and if its all just surface rust like he says then there isnt a problem

PMSL @ some peoples responce to this post.

To be honest, that shell yeah is a little tatty and so what if it is its nothing that can't be sorted. It is poss to find a nova in really good condition, but be prepared to pay a little more for it, Plus where’s the fun in that???

Main thing is, this car is being treated to a full on rebuild and then USED as a CAR should. Not just parked in a shitty car park or left in a garage and then put on a trailer for the shows.

I personally congratulate this guy for undertaking the rebuild well done mate.

Cheers for your comments Rexy & JR, it hasn`t had an engine fire, just had a seriously smokey 1.2 8v engine, I got the complete car for £150 so really can`t complain, the cleanest Nova Sport I`ve ever seen which was posted by JR was in a far worse state & look how it turn out
