Pulled my finger out and got the new brakes down the machine shop early this week, and they were ready on firday mornign so I popped over before work to get them, then had to spend all day in work till I could go try them, but then I couldn't be bothered too cold and dark, but finaly got over to the car this morning to see what was what with them.
Here's a pick of the 256mm brakes you find on cav's, astra's and so on to compare:

Space behind the wheel:

Here's the new disk set up 300mm rotor on an alloy bell. I've only had some priliminary work done on them so I can sort out the mounting brakets, good new is I can run the offset I wanted (25mm) which means I can have them turned down to be as light as possible, so they shoudl be sub 5kgs with bolts in (to compare a 288mm cast disk weighs 8kgs) And they will be anodised in electric blue too.

Space left behind wheel (1.5cm)

And these are the everyday wheels the car will wear note that they hide the brakes neaty adding to the subtleness of the car (hopefully)

and lastly a little profile shot of the car, I can't get the alloys on the back yet for two reasons A) I haven't taken a big hammer to the inner arch and B) i haven't had the arches rolled and flared the 1-1.5" I need for space :bye: but I will get round to that sometime.

Next installment when I get my steerign wheel and move the steering coloumn down.

I've just got rid of myold calipers, I've got the new ones on the way, I was only seeing how the bells went on today, the caliper mounting will be done once the bells are finished off.

Which smaller rims? they're both 15" alloys.
Mark- calipers aren't 4-pots, I'm going for as light as possible.
