Hopefully can find a good condition low milage Subaru Impreza RB5 with the WR Sport (PPP) fitted.

Anyone have any information about any bad things to look out for with imprezas, or any suggestions for any other cars that might be comperable?

Heres a pic of EXACTLY the sort of RB5 im looking for:-

Any opinions?

Tis nice, how come you fancy the rb5, how much do they go for? Heard ppp is well worth having aswell if I was buying an import i'd go for a 2dr type r.

Lots of models, but RB5's are the last special edition of the old shape. I love it the prodrive spoiler is by far the nicest one for the classic imprezas IMO, and only comes on this car as part of the Prodrive Performance Pack, that most RB5's had fitted.

Was 444 made, roughly 400 left now, and only about 250 with the PPP so there quite rare and retain there value quite well.

With the pack they make about 250bhp. and go fo between £8-10 k.

And i want a UK car for the insuarance, most places are a lot more expensive for the imports.

I was looking at a P1, but there more like £13-15 k and thats stretching it for what i can afford.

Unfortunatly would have to be standard spec as the insurance is already going to be biting near the £2k a year mark...

There difficult to get now in good condition as theres so few might take ages, and this leaves me in the position of trying to flog the corsa, and the market for 10 year old modified corsas isnt hot lol.

Did you know that the gold wheels on scoobys was a mistake by oz racing.

In the 1996 monte carlo rally oz were delivering some wheels, ordered in anthracite by prodrive!
Oz deliverd the gold and prodrive nearly didnt run the car as they thought the japs would go crazy due to this, they ran the car and it made a bit of press coverage.
When david richards rung the japs to apologise for the colour of the wheels they informed him that they had stopped the production line in japan and changed all the wheel colours to gold on the top range models,
hence the gold wheels

useless bit of info for you there, and the RB5 was named after richard burns when he won the first world title for subaru
