My grim night out!
Last night, instead of sitting at home being miserable I braved a night out, on my own.
The pub I was planning to go to has live music on Saturdays. Damn place was shut!!! so instead of turning round and walking all the way back home I went to another pub which was ok last time I went there.
I nabbed a bar stool and propped up the bar for the evening, supping Cider and people watching (yup I am seriously sad).
There was the fifty something birthday girl, who threatened to beat the crap out of a burly bloke at the bar who allegedly bumped into her mate. I would hate to meet her in a dark alley
There were a few sad looking (also drinking alone) folks. enuff said!
Later there was the local Rugby team mmmmmm eye candy so I had a chat with a few of them. I know sod all about rugby so the conversation was informative (not that I can remember any of it this morning).
As the night went on I was drawn to the local 'nitespot' for a dance ( i love to dance). I bumped into a girly friend in there we danced and gossiped and after a couple of hours I decided I was ready for my bed. Chicken kebab in hand I walked back home.
My first night out alone. Not one I will be repeating in a hurry. But I am glad I braved the big bad world as a singleton.
Be brave and share your Grimmest night out!!!!

Nothing wrong with going out alone, I've done that before, loads of people I know do this as well sometimes too.
Usually end up meeting people you know when you're out as well so it ain't all bad.
As for the 'cry for some friends' comment, if you read her post it says "Last night, instead of sitting at home being miserable I braved a night out, on my own." and "My first night out alone" - to me that does not state she goes out alone all the time and has no friends, does it?

Whenever I go out in Oxford I always seem to find people from work - especially ones I want to avoid.
