thought id bring it to your attention that a company called A.T.D (ADVERTISE A DOUBLE PAGE SPREAD IN TOTAL VAUX) are a very poor company to deal with.
i bought goods from them 6 weeks ago, everything arrived on time and all was well until i realised the goods were damaged. so i called them and they said to send them back and they will send a replacement. so thats what i did. a few days later i call them to see if they recieved them, was promised a call back to confirm that they had. never called me. 2 days later i call again and they say the same. call never came.
after 4 calls to find out the situation they tell me that they have recieved them and that they will send a replacement. 10 days on, nothing arrived. call them again and they say 'dunno whats going on mate' so i ask for a re-fund instaed which they said they would do immediately.
guess what? 3 weeks on i still dont have a re-fund, called them yesterday and they did it while i was on the phone (after a lot of messing round).
today, re-fund finally arrives, 25% LESS THAN WHAT WAS PAID!!! was told they have a 25% handling charge, even on faulty goods, and that was their company policy
now im not daft and i know my statutory rights ( i run my own company and deal in retail and finance services) so told him that he cant do that, and he said
"yes i can, i know the law and it has changed," we can charge what we want , even on faulty goods"
when i ask him where he found out about these 'new' laws, he said:
" i read it in one of the daily papers"
this was the manager FFS!
anyway, rant over, just thought id warn you guys what a bunch of cowboys this company is
p.s im gonna get my money back, ive got a few tricks up my sleeve

talking through his arse.
1/ he you recived damaged goods so your entitled to a refund and you should not have to pay the return postage.
2/ distance selling laws allow for a cooling off period where you can return the goods unused for a full refund within 7days of recipt.
inform them that the sale of goods act has not changed

Speak to the manager, tell him you have been speaking with your lawyer and trading standards about the handling charge and you plan to take them to court over the matter.
if they dont give you your money back, do exactly that, they dontt have a leg to stand on.

Don't just get your money back, report them to the DTI and/or Trading Standards. People like this deserve to go out of business and live in cardboard boxes under brindges by canals.
