Yes I believe so, hence why imports have to have them put on

Ahh, ok, are there any rules about reverse lamps? Can they be anywhere, or do they need to be on the passenger side?

you dont need reverse lights to pass mot mate, mine went thru an mot with ease with none

yep you need a fog light but not a reverse. they dont even test it in the mot as its not a legal requirement

Fog lamps in Sub section 6

The answer is If you car has one in the centre or offside position (since 1980) then it must be working to pass the inspection.
