put a false advert in, over price a car so no genuine buyers phone up for it and then put a premium rate number down.
Shame its so much to advertise else it could have been quite funny.

I remember reading somewhere once a magazine like 'whatcar?' or similar advertised a lada with no tax or mot, rusty, doesnt start etc etc for £2000 knowing that nobody would ring. Sure enough tons of agencies called to say we have x amount of potential buyers interested.

I still get agencies phoning up about the Astra.

I ask will it cost me any money...they say no...I say fine, and then play along.
then 5 minutes later they ask for a £89 registration fee.

Usually swear and hang up at this point.

I had 1/2 hour convo with the cardata sales man... I was saying that car data was shiiit he said " but we match a buyer to a seller every 5seconds"

"Good for you but that doesn't mean they buy the car, just coz your matching people up, its probably the same people every 5 second...you try and make it sound like your selling cars for people every 5seconds"

Then he realed off a load of sales speil and told me the price it was to advertise i was like f0000k 0ff!!

fcukin conmen!!

saw this on watchdog, the potenial buyer could be yourself

if ur selling then they assume u also buying replacement, so you go on books as potential buyer
