Now then I'm jet set and ready to go with this.

I want a Astra GSi Turbo, they cost around 9k for a decent one, far do's but I don't want to borrow more than I'm likely to get for redudancy just in case I do get made redudant so my limit for borrowing is 7k so to afford a GSi I would have to sell the Nova to make up the difference which I'm not at all keen about but want a Astra GSi Turbo.

SO

My other option is to borrow 7k and buy a decent Coupe Turbo for this price and keep the Nova, I like this option but I'm concered I might regret not buying a Astra GSi.

I need to share this massive dilemma with you and my friends.

Get the sri turbo, and then try and find a gsi interior or get the sri retrimmed,
there about 2k cheaper than the gsi,
also you can get the sri chip set at same power as the gsi, or nice phase 1 chip to bring it upto 240 bhp

the sri turbo and gsi both have exact same engines and managment, just got a different kit and the sri has standard sri interior, doesnt come with switchaeable TC but all the wires for it are there, just a case of getting the switches for it

I don't really like the SRi Brad, and they have the horrible standard interior.

If I'm lucky I might be able to get a Coupe Turbo with the part alcantara interior.

Another concern is, is that the Nova would never ever get driven, even in the summer

I would personally make sure you kept the nova no matter what.
The nova is becoming somewhat of a collectors/enthusiasts car, whereas the astra gsi is dropping in price everymonth.

Once the VXR astra is released, prices will fall even more.
Get a £7k loan and save for the rest. It will be a wise move in the long term.

I'd hang fire for a couple of months and save a bit while the prices drop a bit.

Saving, I done this once to build the Nova, it burns deep holes in pockets and if I've got 7k in my pocket I will be even worse

Hard work involved in the Nova would make selling it a ridiculous waste of time.

I think I've made my own mind up I just wanted to get it out of my brain and onto cyberspace.

Keep the Nova and just wait a bit longer till the price of GSis drops so you can afford one.

Don't sell the Nova! All that work you've put into it would be a waste!
I agree with Byron, when the VXR is out the GSi's will drop a bit more in price. I've noticed a few in the past on ebay and reasons for sale are because the sellers are looking to buy the VXR when released. Seems like they are being sold while they are worth a bit more.

If you've saved before, you should be ok saving £2k AND don't get the loan until you've saved the rest.

These are all very valid points, I just checked out Byron's thread on Astra Sport about how much the Astra GSi has depreciated recently, which worries me slightly more.

Maybe buying a Coupe for 6 or 7 grand would be a better option, its not likely to depreciate much further for a couple more years.

True. I'd be happy with the coupe also, but I think I'd regret it in the long run not buying the GSi. Probably because I've always wanted one
I also think that the coupe's are more common than the GSi. They are round my area anyway.

I would regret not buying the GSi, but at the end of the day its your choice.
I think the coupes have hit a plateu, and their prices will be there or there abouts for a while.

Up to you. I was going to buy a GSi before my current car came along, but financially it wouldnt have been ideal.

I just think 9k nowdays for a Vauxhall is a lot of money, in the Autotrader I could get a new shape BMW 325i with 60k for a little over 10k or a T-plate Scooby with 50k on the clock for 9k grand so it kind of puts things in perspective.
