Im soo pissed off today!!

I got my car towed to dg motors last week. It was the type of tow truck that lifts the car in the air with ropes. All was fine till i collected the car on Monday night and then seen the car in daylight yesterday for the first time....

There is now a bloody great big dent in the rear quater panel running exactly along the line where the rope would have been touching the car! its about 3/4 of a foot long! The worst thing is i just spend about €4500 on bodywork about 6 months ago and havent had a chance to drive it yet!!

It looks like the car was leaning back on the rope and it has just pressed the quater panel in, theres no paint or no scratches! I havent rung him yet cos im not sure where i stand and dont want to bung my chances. Im gonna ring him at lunchtime.

Have you guys got any opinions or advice? I mean, i think he DEFINITLY should fork out for the repairs, but he'll probably try and fob me off by saying it was already there!

Help!

They will be insured mate probably happens all the time, as long as you didn't sign anything to say the car was fine when he left, you should get some money out of them

NO, I signed nothing. The tow truck are the opel (Vauxhall) dealers main tow truck company. They picked up the car while i was at work and dropped it off at the garage. Then they just billed the dealer who was fixing the car and the towing cost appeared on the opel dealers invoice along with the price of the repairs. I paid in cash and then recieved the invoice and got my keys back. Deal done!

Go to the garage and say your not leaving till you find out how the damage was done to your car and who will be paying for it.

Suppose the old popping out is a bit of a relief! The garage have told me that they always do a bodywork check when the cars come in and they have offered to show me the report. They knew about the bump and a nick in the skirt so i think they are telling the truth... But the tow company are denying responsability!

On the plus side i have a guy here in dublin who does all my bodywork called PWM whos top notch and pretty cheap aswell. I was due to get a spoiler custom made and get a dash done in a metalflake so he'll probably do me a good deal on the repairs
