I'd drive a LET before gettin one and see if it suits your driving style.
I was dead set on a LET but now well want a TB'd XE set up as they are much nicer to drive

my driving stylee is along the lines of "drive it loike its stolen"
so what made you want the TB's fad??
and i'll doubt anyone will lend me a LET to test out.

well i recently drove a LET nova with an ATB diff and even then it was undrivable. Also being out in Steves tis quick but too much wheelspin.
Sent out in Matt H's TB'd corsa and it pulls well and progressive and just seems more drivable round the twisties too ]
All IMO like but look at mattb he is smitten with his TB'd corsa now

so if i drive a LET like i normally drive, i'll have no tyres

so how much am i looking at to go from standard to TB's all running??

say u dont get a rebuild, just whip the sump off and stick some ARPs in so you can rev it.
Then get a set of:
Cams-£280-£400
TB's-anything for 800-2k best bet is find a set second hand (Ebay/Mig)
Headwork+ new Gasket (250-350)
Enigine management-Omex/Emerald/DTA £500ish
Mapping-300-500?
Just depends on how mad you want to go. With the above hopefully 200bhp is achiveable but if u just bolt the TB's on mayb 170-180?
LETs are better value for money but stright line speed isnt all I am after and Turbos always cost more in the long run.....Jambo is walking proof of this
ps. please just let Lee do it this time as its more pain and less results again

dont worry mate, i'll be speaking to sir mitchell about it. no chance i'm gonna try it myself. i think i may have learnt form my mistakes. worst thing about it is tho, for all the money i've spent, i could have took it to lee in the 1st place and had a rebuilt let put in

yes
speak to novatech in slough, they do some lovely throttle bodies, ive got some. well impressed with their service, bernie is a great guy.
they do sets including omex management and loom from £1600. much better build quality than the sbd / jenvey kits:

£1600, thats pretty good, so you wouldn't need anything else if you brought that kit then??
would it include the manifold?

its from £1600. you would need to get a price from them really for a full kit. but for that you get bodies, manifold, loom, sensors, ecu and a base map. you would need injectors, fuel hoses, adjustable feul regulator and make a throttle linkage (easy) and a few other little bits and bobs (nothing major)

Go TB's, think of the XE performance in first and second gear - it's great, but when you get int thrid and above it gets a bit slow and dissapointing. TB's will sort that all right out
You can get an Alpha DIY kit for about £1800 which comes with a base map, that you can get re-mapped once you got some more cash and some more mods like cams to finish the job off...
I would keep things n/a because it's a lot more drivable in the Corsa. Sure LETs feckin' rock, but they are nuts!
