well was out playing in the astra last night came past an Evo 8 in town.. had a look in the car and got a wee look as if to say haha old mk3 astra  
So i gave it a little dump so i got the heads turning  so the guy heads for the m-way has a wee blast on the way and he cant get me off his bumper 
so finally we get to the m-way and he goes for it up to 4th gear im all over him into 5th and i passed him 6 th gear and bye bye EVO
so slows down further along and he comes up behind me kicking 3 shades of daylight out this thing, so i go into 4th in no time im behind him again 5th gear, 6th gear and im passed him again so when he catches up with me we both pull over, the guy is running 287bhp at the moment and was totally amazed with an old astra  his evo was brand new...
was only running 11psi as i was playing with the actuator the other night so its going back out to its proper 15psi later today
And i thought evo's were fast

only running phase 2 at the moment mate, which is about 1 bar of boost i was running under that last night so pretty happy with the results..
should be phase 3 shortly though...

not had much problems.. i had a valver corsa before this and its night nad day mate.
blowng boost pipes off and having to put loadsa petrol in it is my problemss

i dont disagre i just find it funny how majority of people on here say how much more shoot a corsa handles with a red top or turbo and they have never been in one or driven one

Yes i have driven a red top corsa!
And yes it was shocking! i have also driven a 2 litre Mk3 Astra and they dont handle either!!!!!

Yes EVO's are fast point to point. Straight line racing on big long roads is queer.
He would have raped you on a launch and down a twisty b road well
Still shows the reputation of evos/imprezas when some of you guys cant wait to rush home and do a "i beat an evo/subaru" thread.

on launch i wasnt far off him.. on a twisty road i would get my ass handed to me on a plate. im running full adjustable suspension which seems to handel pretty well but it aint that good....
Give me straight road racing anyday

Who cares about how shit vaux handling is?
The fact is is that some geezer went out and bought an evo, saw an astra behind him and got overtaken by him - its still gonna piss him off and make the astra driver gloat.
Take it on a track and it would be different tho as said before.
