Fook that, 308mm would fit behind my 16's!

If you want something huge go for a Cossie 382mm x 24mm (I think) AP 8 Pot Kit.

Easily looking 2-3k for the fronts?

sometimes having the brakes to big can be a bad idea, unless you uprate all the other parts that are used whilst braking.

I would say no bigger than 355mm really - Biggest size you can fit behind 18's

For £895 you could get a Godspeed 4 pot set up with 355mm rotors... The calipers are made from cast steel and are specifically designed for use on an everyday road car. I would advise you stay away from anything with any form of aluminium calipers...

You would need a 19" spare anyway to keep things legal... Doubt there is room for that, can of tyre weld would be ok
