hey...
I've been in my job now for 5 months today but don't have a contract ... I thought after 13 1/2 weeks a company legally had to give you one, even if it's a temporary one.
... anyone know anything about this?
... the thing is I'm off on holiday in october and have a grim feeling they will give me my notice just before I go away  .. just need to know if I have a leg to stand on really

You have one, and you've accepted it just by working. Ask personel dept for a copy.

You have your own personal one, its not a generic document and you can't have someone elses, they're basically set in stone on the date you are appointed.
