could you go out with anyone in the army? knowing theyll be away for ages at a time, dangerous conditions etc etc?

Nope, from seeing them down town in darlo i couldnt, its not the fact they are away for ages just what their reputation is

yea i know, i doubt i could have a relationship with anyone in there, its the fact y dont see them and then you dunno what they are up to when they are away
