arching your back is a legit technique to bench press. Feet, arse and shoulder blades. You are correct with bouncing though, I think he bounces to get to the point of muscle reflex.

Yeah I arch my back when I press. As said feet arse and shoulder blades must be touching bench.

cheers, didn't know that, Surely your working more of the muscles your supposed to be working if your doing it without arching your back though?

well to be honest, it would more or less be the same, although arching your back will focus more on the chest and lower traps whereas without the arch you will work your back to an extent

I'm only 10st too - so I'm not worried! No matter what I do, I can't seem to move weight - been going gym for 6 months, eating fine, doing 30 mins weights n cardio but still 10st 6!
I'll see how this new program goes. Problem is, the meat heads hang around the benches etc so when its busy its hard to get a look in!

bench press, squats, deadlifts are quality lifts because more testosterone is released when you do them - aids muscle building

in a session, do as much as you can on bench press, but don't call it a day there. go and do your back, otherwize you'll not only get unbalanced muscles, but they wont grow as well/quick. 45 minutes to an hour is what i do.
its not just bench press, declines, inclines and fly are all something to be concidered

ill always have arguments regarding flys, the day someone tells me they can feel the muscle working when they do flys, will be the day i eat my hat.

When i used to train it was just overkill for the front delts and there are much better lifts to replace it with.

Thanks for the advice guys. Haven't been for a week so looking forward to the burn on Tuesday (had a pain in the arse cold!).
Only thing I fear about the gym is the return after a break.
