What did subaru do to the type RA impreza to get 276-280bhp from the standard 215bhp or what ever it is?
Also is the type RA engine blue printed?
As much info on the engine as poss would be ace!!

Blue printed... from factory doubt it...
Different ECU, turbo, injectors (not sure on), prolly different pistons and I think the proper RA had some sort of 5th injector?
Other imports that get better power also have the better things mentioned above, plus the run on better fuel, which turbos love!

As TIm said different set up , The R & RA are as close to rally spec as you can get i think , so they had all the toys on.

The scooby R - RA and Sti engines were all blue printed they also had bigger injectors 440cc to be precise Timrud is also right with the 5th injector although it was never activated for road use. They had alot of fettling from Subaru Technica International.
