right i currently got 1.4 sri 8v, with 15s on.
thinking off puting 17s on, but not sure if i need to mod.
1) am i write in thinking i need 45 offset or can i get 42, and how wide can i go.
2) also how low can i go before i need to cut arches, and do i need to remove inner arch trims.
3) what will be the difference in handling and perfromance, compared to my current 15s

difference will be that acceleration wont be has good and handling at speed say around roundabouts the car will lean more has its higher off the ground u have to decide wat u want performance or speed?
if there et 49 then u should be ok has they wont stick out so much has say et 42 so they should tuck under arch nice!
i had 17s on mine for a while with a 40 mil drop they where ok was scraping inside slightly but they were the wrong et!

you'll rarely find ET49 17's and sometime they can rubb on the outside of the shock.
Best bet is 40mm drop on ET45 (most common) no arch work needed. Also tyres with a more rounded off tread to sidewall pattern will help

i was gona get 16s with 40ml drop, would this be a better option for perfromance and handling or just the same as 17s.
also its hard to tell on pictures what 16s look like as they still look small, but as i say photos arent always good examples.

im thinking about going with 16s and a 60ml drop. after reading around the forums it seems this is the best option.
