Yep - do you have a replacement ecu or just the chips themselves?

Right you need to be careful not to loose any parts.

1) Remove the ecu from the car.
2) Locate retaining pins (think they are around 6 or 8 of these
3)Carefully remove the cover off the ecu
4)You will see the chips
5) carefully lever off (spoon or something which wont break the circuits)
6)Reverse process - job done.

there are two plates that are fixed together and all the chips are inside.How do you detach them?

You will more than likely have to solder the chip in or get someone to do it, I have an EDS chip in my XE. theres some extra clips near the front of the ECU where the pins are.
