Liverpool got rid of him in the first place so I think the only reason they talked to him was because of the fan pressure. Liverpool don't need him and neither do Man u, Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle were the only other team to cough up the cash. Hes basically gone to the last resort.

I watched Ipswich on Sky yesterday

After watching Milan Baros at the Villa Saturday i would rather have 3 of him than 1 Owen. Owen scores goals at quality clubs because of the service he gets, he won't get this at newcastle.

I think its a good move, he will play all the time, in a good league, in a good stadium, the fans will love him and remember Newcastle are progressing (emre, ique (sp) Parker) etc

IMO he will have agreed that he can leave at any time if a suitable offer is received, he won't stay there that long as he won't win anything or score much with such awful players around him!

Its funny, all the years Newcastle have spent in the top flight and have still won NOTHING

Your sh1te, things started to look good when Robson was in charge but you sack him, fcuking monkeys.

I would'nt want Owen at Ipswich, I would want him at a top 3 Premiership team for the sake of England, at Newcastle his confidence is going to take a battering and that in turn will effect our world cup chances.

Souness is the shittest manager under the sun.

Foz, the less said about our performance yesterday the better

Although at least we're not Norwich

I guess Owen is thinking it'll be easier to shine at an average club. Big fish small pond and all that.

good signing for newcaslte but as said a wee bit backward step for Owen unless he can turn newcastles fortunes around..

also think souness should be given time to see if he can make them better..

Not in a team that cannot pass a ball to him, he likes it at his feet not the long ball of Newcastle.

Are we sure Souness is'nt Graham Taylor in disguise?

He'll still score. The same club Shearer has scored 200+ goals at.

I'm proud of Luton, goes to show with just confidence you can go far, whether or not you'll be there at Xmas is another story.

I'm just happy Norwich are 2nd from bottom and we have 10 points out of a possible 18.
