Dint think just how different the engines are, Really are too, with different Sumps the C20 having a massive one where as the X20XEV is very small, also hase different valves and head. does anybody know just what it is that makes them so different?

Different head, exhaust system, cam profile, ECU.

is it the ecu and exhaust sytem that causes the poorer BHP figure? how about using a C20XE ecu on the X20XEV

Would never work. It's all of the things stated above that limit the BHP to 136bhp, thats hardly a poor BHP level for a normal 2.0 run about though... It's not like Vauxhall are advertising these engines as sporty engines.

they are down in power due to the inlet ports and throats being at quite a steep angle and being narrow basically choking the engine of air at high revs
