Just spoke with RX Motors

The engine is out , the plates and housings have gone away to be ported and polished.

The engine should be rebuilt by the end of the week after next. The FMIC is ready to be put in with hardpipe kit.

Waiting on the injectors, fuel pump and new fuel rail.

Shopping list stands at:

Rebuild - £2500
Porting work: - £300
FMIC - £700
Fuel pump / rail / injectors - £800
MOT + Tax - £500 (need bushes etc..)
Skirts - £220
Spoiler - £200
Bumper - £400
Bumper Lights - £100
Headlight Vent - £70
Rear Lights - £150
Steering Wheel - £100
Dyno session - £400
Carbon Bonnet - £600
Bodywork - £1000

TBH mate when you take away all the extra bits your doing the rebuiuld isnt that bad... I would of thought it be loads more than 2.5K

Thats the only thing thats puts me off an RX7 is all the extras you would want

A stock rebuild is 2.5K so its miles cheaper than a supra , evo or scoob, the price has gone up like you say with the extras.

i dont need any of them , but im hungry for power

6 new pistons, some new valves, new hybrids, new fuel sys, blah blaj

thats my point the rotary rebuild is cheap , its just the extras that people have done that put the price up.

thats what put me off the Evo , prices for bits are

Thinking of something Jap but am often put off by stories of expensive rebuilds etc etc. In all fairness I spent over 1K on my XE rebuild (mates rates too) and may mates spent in excess of 10K on his LET rebuild so far and shows it not so bad after all

My mates just spent 6K on a starlet rebuild , ok hes gone from 136Bhp to 290Bhp in his 1300 but still
