When you drive with your parents in the car do you find that you change the way you drive?

Whenever i have my mum in the car she always criticises the way that i drive and tells me where to go and what to do as if im a learner driver again. Really annoys me so i hate having to give her a lift anywhere now.

Does anybody else find this?

Dad and I have similar driving style, so it's not too bad, we can scare each other. Have to tone it down with mum in the passenger seat as she comes close to ripping the handle off sometimes she's holding on so tight.

i dont have either of my parents in my car very often. My dad has been in my car once. I scared him that time so i dont think he will come in it again.

The worst hassle i get is from the missus!

Oh my mate he has a push bike and does not drive. One day he was in my 182 so i went on the motorway and did 80 odd in 3rd and he paniced and said slow down. So i said i need to get to the same speed as the cars on the motorway

The same with mine, my mum used to allways ask if she could drive, but her insurance on my cars run out now, so before we go anywhere she says "You will go steady wont you Carly, im getting old i dont like been scared"

I dont really get a choice.
I work with my mum and intentionally leave for work 2 minutes after my step dad has taken her to work just so i dont have to and he picks her up after work.

Only thing is, tonight my step dad is working late and i get an early finish so i have to give her a lift home. That means no music, no window open, and having to drive like a fricking granny

I gave my mum a lift the other day in the Astra.... couldn't resist just edging on boost -- that feeling in your stomach. I just watched her silently grab the door handle really tightly

Girlfriend then had a go at my after as she knew I was trying to scare my mum

If my Mum tried to teach me how to drive I would remind her that she is the one who has 9 points on her licence, drives every car she owns into solid objects and has curbed wheels.

My Dad is ace he is the same as mum when she is around - but if we are in the car on my own - he will say "go on whats it go like, go on dont be shy" love it
