Tell the truth guys how many uni goers end up doing the job they paid through the teeth for to get a degree in at uni?
Apparently on 25-30% of uni peeps end up in the job they wanted or what they thought the job should be.
oh and whats the avarage uni debt?

I've done 3 years of uni so far, and i'm still a first year 
I doubt i'll get a job that's anything to do with the course i'm doing (if i ever finish)

Whats it matter about the average.
If you want a certain job that requires a certian degree you got to get it.

hope to graduate this year bu will have to wait and see. may end up taking second year again by which time i will have had enough of the subject so want another type of job!

thing is tho, there are many positions that require a degree, but it doesnt matter which one.
Just because they arnt doding a job directly linked with the subject doesnt mean their degree hasn't helped them get it

Just graduated this summer and have about 9k debt at the moment.
Got 2 years at law school now and a secure job in 2007 when I leave.
Expecting 16-17k debt over these 2 years as the course fees are MAD!!
But its not something you can just waltz into, really need to go to Uni and Law School (for LPC at least)

ye good point is supposed to show that you are apable of that level of study and give you the "transferable skills" whatever they are.

well for starters anything less than say a 2:1 aint gona get you a great job nor will it let you follow on and do a PHD as most wont take on students at the stage also in most cases now uni's aprt from oxford, C'bridge and york take on people who because they can afford to pay the fees are let through clearing weather there grades at that point are good or not. dont be fooled to thinking its all about grades. Its about filling seats and money,
and then with even a poor degree you end up been over educated for most non degree needing jobs

Its not what you know (I got a 2:1)
Its WHO you know.
A piece of paper with 2:1 written on it is not going to pay your salary.......people are.
Thats the biggest lesson Ive learnt, all the breaks Ive had (especially with securing a training contract) have been through people I know and networking.
No one seemed to care what uni/course you did unless it was Oxford/C'bridge and the like

and also say there is 300 students in your yr alone not counting outher uni's doing the same course, its not just peeps in your uni but every other uni in england that want tha same jobs and the money that goes with it. so ya gota remember uni friends are aslo the people wanting the job you may aslo want in the future

My degree is going to be pretty much worthless, but I'm learning loads and I really enjoy it.
Its what you know AND who you know in most cases.

The job I was offered after Uni requires ABB at A Level and a 2.1/1st from a good red brick Uni. It also pays very well indeed and has a huge amount of perks.
I had the best three years of my life at Uni and that was the end result. Based on a 30k salary, you pay back about £50/month for your student loan. Its barely noticeable. My salary also doubles over three years and then the sky is the limit once qualified.

I decided to go to uni because i get to widen my social knowledge, further my education to a very high standard, and have a good time.
Also for the job i intend to do you cant just start as an apprentice and work your way up.
I shall be taking a placement year to get the experience and 70% of students that go on placement for my course are offered a job when they graduate!!

no real reason for me to go to uni tbh, as its more knowledge and who you know - but hopefully ill get to know a lot of people at uni with contacts, plus uni is one of those "things" that if you dont do it, you will never get chance to and you'll miss out on the whole experience etc etc
