want a laptop/notebook for uni.

all the ones of the sorta spec i want and are in my price range are AMD processors, are AMD good, or should i fork out a pentium?

I've got a laptop with an AMD Athlon processor AMD 2600+ and I've not had any problems, had my laptop nearly a year now.
