I dont think they have, most countries in Europe have noticed a significant rise in A-level results over the last 30 years, IMO its just a result of harder working students, more of which want to go to university so they want to perform better. Also I believe teaching quality has probably risen.

a 97% pass rate to me, says you turn up, you pass, it may be a low pass, but you still pass.

They havent dumbed down the exams passe.....its the structure

Coursework is a POP and parents/relatives friends always help

as does the internet

Not surprising more people pass now as opposed to when it was a single exam

exactly Demo - half the people on this site never went to uni, probably a lot of them fucked up also - but you don't see them all sitting in gutters homeless.

Infact a lot of the 'non' uni people are earning some serious money now while the students are getting into serious debt.

Uni in my opinion is over-rated!

I agree teachers at school are to blame, uni this and uni that

If I was to start all over I would have left school after Highers (easier scottish equivalent to A levels) gone to college to do offshore engineering for 18 months (paid btw) and you get an HNC. I would of been feckin loaded by know

Might drop out of uni and do this now
