http://www.cis.co.uk

been with them for 2 years, 19 on monday and just got my renewal.

Policy in my mums name

2.2 DTI SRI Vectra

ANYONE can drive it fully comp as long as they can legally drive (even on a provisional) anywhere including europe.

European breakdown cover included for free

Protected no claims so I can have up to 3 complete write offs in 3 years and it wont affect the premium and I can still keep the no claims bonus, just have to pay the excess.

Can mod as much as i want as long as it doesnt affect performance

£1056

cant get much better than that!

And, (correct me if im wrong please) but your mum must drive the car at least %51 of the time. So if u get pulled over lots (fog lights on, driving like a twat) you'll get ruined.

5months!!! and it only got sorted because i sorted out all the paper work and estimates etc myself! then got a phonecall on monday saying that they wanna send ANOTHER assesor down because they have lost the paper work from the original one!

they are crap, unhelpful, unco-operative and incompliant!

when your insured as a named driver, this means your not supposed to be the main driver, it means your only supposed to "borrow" the car to nip out to odd places and such like, not drive it all the time, and only use your mum on it to get the price down

plus you have a financial interest in it so im pretty sure its a void, they could even do some observation to see who drives the car, has been done on others. My 1st year was on my mums but now on my own and saving loads so when i come to 21 and get a lil jap car it wont be sky high.

actually not every1 can drive it, its anyone incl. named drivers under 21. as i have been with cis before when i was 17.

you laugh but for alot of people this is the only way they can afford to get insured! im 20 noNCB and 3points i cant get insured under 1900. i cant afford that atm! where as on mums name i get quotes of 400!

yeah for some people this is the only way they can insure a car, ive been with cis on my dads name since i started driving about 2 and a half years ago at 17. it was an easy decision to make really pay well over £1000 think the cheapest quote i got was hmmmmm £1350 for my 1.2 ls corsa or pay £218 a year on my dads hmmmmmm well this was the only way i could afford to insure the car as im a student with a crappy part time job. i dont see the harm in it, ive had a few cars with them now never crashed and dont drive like an idiot, have been pulled and asked for a producer, took the document to the police station and the couldnt have given a shoot if it was in my dads name or not. so yes i can drive to college/work legally thank you very much and over the years it must have saved me a few grand.

plus when im older ill get my own policy and there are companies around that will give you no claim bonus if you have been a named driver, yes i know this for certain as my mam used to be on my dads policy and then got her own with 4 years no claims so this does exsist.

so laugh all you want and say its shoot whatever but its saved me a packet and meens i can get insured on a decent car when im still young-ish

and the company your mum is with, can she have a fast car? modded car? doubt it same with you to when your older.

i thought insurance companys was stopping doing that anyway so they didnt get loads of people going on there rents insurance hen coming along and saying they have x amount of NCB.

not been funny but if u cant afford to insure mot tax a car u should nt have a car .

ur insurance would be void if u was in an accident and they asked ur neighbours who drives the car most
