What are the laws on learning to ride bikes?
I'm thinking about getting myself a motorbike but am unsure what I am aloud to drive. Do you have to learn on a 125cc or can you ride a 250cc if you are over a certain age?
Then.. how do you work your way up to drive the bigger bikes?

You have to pass the test to ride 250's etc, think its something silly like £400
I beleive if your 17 you can ride a scooter and over 21 you can ride a 125cc (with L plates) might be wrong though.

Your CBT enables you to ride a 50cc if under 17, or 125cc if 17 or over.
Anything bigger than that you need your full lisence for. First you take your theory, then after you lessons if you pass your test you have your full bike lisence. If your over 21 there are no restrictions. If your under 21 like me, your restricted to 33bhp for 2years. If like me your 20, so will be 21 before your 2years are up, you can just do a days training when your 21 to get rid of the restiction, ta-daa!
