looking for a new job, sick of my current one and im heavily into gaming, and trying to find a site that deals in this area....has anyone here gone down the same route and know of a website or any advice

dont really wanna do game testing, my mate does it and it drives him mad.

sounds like a great job, but testing a game to find holes in levels etc isnt fun day after day.

designer, texturer/modeller, programmer

Wont get a job like that mate.

Either look into programming, or physics.

Ring the developers up and ask what kind of qualifications etc.

I know some universities are starting to do it.

Games indusry is worth millions, just got to get your foot in the door and move around from there.

your not just gonna be able to walk in somewhere with fuck all experience and suddenly be a computer games programmer for Ocean or somethin

I send letters to the companies.
Emails go straight to deleted items imo.

Agreed.

I sent 150 email for a summer job between then and uni.

Got two replies.

Make up a CV and a good cover letter.

Or, ring up and kind of put them on the spot

Just do a mint covering letter telling them your background, love of computer games and the stuff you know so far.

Tell them you realise you're not that experienced but more than willing to learn, etc.

i have an ONC and 2 HNCs but they are for Advanced IT and Building Studies.

and i cant take 2 years of work to learn a new course for c++, gonna need to find a job which has training in it.
