Going to pick up the car today from the bodgeshop, ive got this seriously bad feeling he is going to be asking for something in the region of4k the reason im saying this is that i spoke to him last friday and he was on about charging 225 per panel where to fcuk he gets that from i dont know anyways where do i stand legally if he asked for 4k for the poor workmanship he has done, the work is as follows:
1) remove all old bodykit
2) spray and blend in gsi kit
3) recess the rear number plate in to the rear bumper
4) Spray bonnet ( 2 different bonnets )
5) Tidy up marks over the car
6) Remove rust from passenger rear quarter
7) Remove rust from boot
8) Respray scuttle pannel
9) Respray cam cover

I think that is about it, i just need to know where i stand do i have to pay the amount he is ask??? as i think im going to get ass raped by this guy and to be honest i dont think there is anything i can do

cheers for you advise,

sounds very expensive
dont pay him anything if you are not happy with it and get a lawyer on to the case so you know you are in the right!

Im sure if you accept the car back from the bodyshop that means you are happy with his work and will have to pay for it? I dunno, sure I read that somewhere!

if he agreed to a quote for 4k before the work was done, and the quality is now up to scratch then theres nothing that can be done.

if the original quote was a lot less, but the guy carried on doing the work and is now asking for 4k then the bodyshop is in the wrong and you have a case.

you can also have a case if you agreed to the 4k quote, but the quality of the work is bad, this is the second time you have taken it to him so i think you have honoured your side of the law in giving them a chance to rectify and i dont think you are then in any way obliged to pay anything

whatever you do, if your not happy, or have any intentions of not paying, DONT take the car away, a good lawyer would rip you apart in court saying this was a sign of being happy with the work

if they tamper with the engine then youve got em for that aswell, they would be stupid to do that

originally he quote 800 to remove the kit put the new kit on and sort out the rust, then i added some little bits like the blending scuttle and a few other bits but nothing to justify over 3k extra, his response was 225 per panel mate thats what i change and this was the 1st ive heard of that

This guy is an A class Cunt. I cant beleive he has the cheek to ask you for any money let alone 4k. Hes askin for the kinda money you would pay in the best bodyshop in the UK, not a bodyshop that took 6months to get overspray on your seats
