my mate had the rs 50, and has given it death for 2 years and apart from general maintenance has had no real probs with it!
i know when you start tuning them you have to up the regular upkeep and keep on top of it all!
'thought id look ard'!

Where on gods green earth does this myth come from that they need more than normal maintance?
6 of my close mates (one of them owned 2 RS125's at different times) and including me have owned RS50/125's and none of them have ever, never needed a re-build.
They were all run in properly, de-restricted, always toped up with oil, infact if I include all the people I have known with Aprilias and the two I have owned the number of 10 Aprilias we have owned between us have NEVER needed a re-build or rings replacing.
I done 20,000 Km's on my SR50 in 1 year

My RS50 would often go past the redline and 12,000 RPM at 65mph I ragged it to death and it started first time everytime.

Pablo 400's tend to be tiny tiny and you need a full license.

I too never had any problems with my RS50! I could achieve a top speed of 69MPH (to be precise) everywhere I went (so long as the road was long enough and it never went wrong!
Get a 125 though....never owned one but I have ridden many. Good fun!

i would recommend a 400 for a better speed and they are more reliable not matter what anybody says!!
also they sound so much better than a bee stuck in a jar!!
also it is a proper size bike so better in all conditions!

I would imagine there is a set mileage before the piston rings need changing like any other 2 stroke engine. But whats a top end rebuild on one of these engines?
3/4 hours work Maximum!?
