Morning all

Just need a bit of advice really! I have just set up Tiscali broadband at my new house but want to set it up wirelessly. I have a laptop with wireless capability, what else do I need? Is it just a wireless router?

Which one can anyone recommend? needs to be towards the cheaper end of the market tho!!!

Thanks in advance people!

By the way, I already have the Tiscali modem, if I just got a router and not a modem router would I be able to rig this up to the existing modem?

cheers

Stu,

They are well easy to setup, just make sure that you put an encryption key on otherwise anyone will be able to access your broadband

Only if the original modem is an ethernet one, if its usb then no,

if you have an ethernet modem all you need is a wireless access point

Gotcha!

Nope, its a USB modem so I will be needing a Router with a built in ADSL modem!

Are there ever any compatibilty issues between the router you use and the inbuilt wireless on the laptop? I dont have to get a particular type of router to suit the wireless on my laptop? The laptop spec is here: Clicky Says it has Wireless Network - 802.11b/g

Thanks for you help guys!!!

Very tempted just to buy Tiscalis modem/router to be honest.........Clicky What do you think?
