now that the car is running purrrfectly im not sure what to do

i kinda want to keep her now, as its all running very smoothly..

want to just get the interior looking as good as the exterior (might even get the car resprayed)

then sort out the brakes and suspension.. then the transmission (well get a big ol diff)

some nice reyland 4 pots
i have Koni ajustables, but im not too sure about them.. think i need something a little more hardcore
then a quaife diff

maybe throw in a short shifter ???

make her into a good all rounder, might get a lil slice of ICE (nothing much)

OH FUK KNOWS... i have too many thoughts flying through my head

Wouldbe nice to see the car all finished with a nice interior. U need to get the paint to match the 1 that is on the bonnet and back bumper. A little ice would be good as u do need some music in the car.

ok so u spend another 2.5k on the car.. you then decide to sell it 6 months after the car is complete.. you aint never getting the 2.5k back your b just p155ing your money away... my advise is enuff is enuff stop spending and save to get a bog standard car like an evo for example

if it comes from the factory then its bog standard... it only becomes a non bog standard car once you starting playing around with it

it dont make sense to spend another 2.5k or more just to finish off a project unless your willing to keep it .. but i know steve he will finish off the project get bored and spend more money on the engine to make it even faster, the money spending wont stop

Finish it steve.

BUT. Keep the Konis. They are ace, you wont get anything "better" for the money.

Spend wisely and dont go crazy.

Keep your car then buy a new one

Amen!!!! I wish Id not have wasted all the money I did on the Corsa! A Corsa will never be a performance car no matter what you do to it!

Correct but at the end of the day they are cheap to run and ifx if they go wrong and mine has taught me so muc habout cars.

I love my car to peices and i never want to sell it. Ever. I obviously will one day i know ill grow out of it. But its something different that i have contributed to building. It may be a waste of money to some people. Not to me.

I agree a evo etc will be a MUCH beter car. But the price tag goes with it.
If u can afford it go for it!

My Corsa wasnt that cheap to fix! Maybe a little cheaper than an Evo/Nissan/Subaru but it went wrong 3 times as much!

I had the same attitude towards my Corsa but getting my arse handed to me by a Swift GTI round some twisties changed all that (a car that I had over double the power of!)

That may be true but if I hadnt put all the money I did into the Corsa, my P1 would have been a nice Porsche GT2 or a Noble!

Dont get me wrong I loved my Corsa and as you said it was my starting block with cars, learned loads! Im not saying no one is right or wrong, I was just giving my opinion based on my experience!

Just out of interest, what is the spec of everyones Corsa and how much do they estimate they have spent. Also what power etc does it run? Would be good to compare it to a few projects i have done since the Corsa.

My car is around £6k.
I could have brought a scooby but it would cost more to fix and more to insure and drink more petrol.

I do agree with what your saying ,mine has gone wrong a few times, but never ina serious way. Just hoses or std oil leaks.

Plus for eg if my gearbox goes, parts is going to be about £40-£50. Id like to see how much a scooby box is worth??

I am in total agreement that they arent designed to handle the power and that a "performance" car would be so much better. you know id LOVE an Evo/P1 but no way in heaven could i afford one at the moment.

Its the best compramise IMO

Did you buy your car done like that Jambo?

If so that is a completely different thing alltogether!

I sold my old Corsa for about £6,000, whoever got it bagged an absolute bargain!!!! I reckon I put £15k into that bloody thing and by the time Id sold it all the problems had been ironed out anyway!
