today my mrs got clipped by a taxi

she was stopped just saying hello to someone on her street (she was in her street btw)

when a taxi came up the street. she moved out the way and the taxi turned round as where she was was where the taxi wanted to go. anyway then the taxi thought he could get thru a small gap ( it was a 7 seater thing)

and clipped the mrs door and wing

no she has a crease/dent in the door and a few chips and on the wing she has a small scratch and a ding. and there is paint from the taxi on the bumper.

the taxi driver would not give any details except for the reg plate. as there was no damage to his car.

what can my mrs do. she only been driveing 3 month and is worried she will get in trouble.

any advice?

Report him and say he failed to give you the correct insurance details. Call the taxi firm he works for (which one was it btw?) and tell them what happened and that you are unhappy with the attitude that he gave you

If she sees him again get his license number (as in his taxi license)

Ally. You do not have to give any one your insurance details at the scene of an accident. Do you know your policy number off the top of your head?

You have 14 days to give them your insurance details.

Until then the police will not be intrested.

you can go to the police in 14 days time and say your side of the story. These are the only details they will give me blah blah and then the police will get in contact with them.

Aye but i thought thatif you were to have an accident, that you had to call the police and they would come out and do whatever it is they need to do?

Reason being someone i know was in an accident and the police were called as soon as it happened, so i got the impression that u had to call them
