i signed up for a years membership with a gym back in april. I'm having serious problems with keeping up with the £46 a month. i've got university coming up soon and other payments due monthly. I've gone to the people at the gym and they said write a letter saying why, and if accepted its a 3 month wait.

my mum said you can cancel the direct debit online (which i can) but i don't wanna cancel it then find they can take me to court etc etc. i can't remember any small print in the contact. any help or advice would be appreciated.

just cancel the direct debit so they can't take money out of my account and right a letter saying thats that. or somehow pay for another 3 - 4 months.

You can also cancel your membership IF you are a woman and pregnant OR if you say you have broken your...leg, which means you cant do any excersise.

You are trying to tell people about nothing you know about.

If you have broken your leg most gyms with hold your membership until you are ready to come back.

If you have signed a 12 month contract then you are a member for 12 months and they can send the balifs around to collect items to the value you owe them!

Most gyms freeze your account, then when you come back, you carry on where you left off, on the other hand, just use a gym that allow you to just go month by month, and as soon as you want to cancel, you give a months notice and pay that last month in advance.
