going with my lady tonight to look at a nice GSi for her. Its got pretty low miles and is a 1995. Its got the x16xe engine.

What should i be looking for before i part with the money? Thanks People

check idling, check when last belt was done shopuld be done every 30K with new rollers and tensioners, listen for tapets..sign of a high miler or even an abused car. Check for leaks around sump and oil pump and rocker cover.

body wise check around the suspention turrets as they always rust first, check around B pillars for cracks and also th chassis rails for rust.

,ake sure most of the kit is there i.e all jacking point covers as they cost lots and also check for any obvious crash damage around boot floor and front slam pannel by checking al ID plates are there etc.

im sure you know this but accelerate hard in 4th gear from low revs and listen out for knocking from the engine

make those kind of decisions when you go to view the car... photos make panels look different from different angles I find.

That usually indicates that its had paint on the bumper at some point and the bodyshop hasn't either masked or repainted the lower grille section.
